Just under an hour flight from Barcelona lies the island of Mallorca, a true oasis perfect for adventure seekers and sun bathers alike. After traveling to Mallorca twice, I have curated a list of the very best places, including the prettiest towns and best beaches, to visit during your next trip to Mallorca. Mallorca is a unique island in the Balearic Sea where the mountains meet the crystal clear blue waters. You’ll find yourself lost among winding cobblestone streets in the quaint villages, only to find fresh orange trees in every corner. Between quaint medieval villages to the best beaches in Mallorca, these are the best towns and top places to visit in Mallorca!
Deià
Located in the northern part of Mallorca is Deià, one of the most beautiful villages on the island and certainly a must-see place in Mallorca. Deià is a small, medieval village perched among the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. Here, you will find quaint, winding alleyways, dozens of lemon and orange trees, and impressive mountain landscapes. There are endless photograph opportunities in Deià, as it is one of the most beautiful towns in Mallorca.

One of the best things to do in Deia is visit La Residencia Hotel for a cocktail on the patio. La Residencia, one of the most luxurious hotels in Mallorca, has a stunning property with beautiful flowers, lemon trees lining the driveway, and picturesque views of the village and mountains. While the drinks are on the pricier side, the scenery and service is truly special to experience and well worth the splurge!

Valldemossa
Spending a day in the medieval village of Valldemossa is another one of the best things to do in Mallorca. The best way to get to Valldemossa is by car, and the drive is just under 30 minutes. There is also a bus that runs between the two towns. Similar to Deià, it is a small village in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range and has spectacular scenery.

Valldemossa is one of my personal favorite places in Mallorca, though, slightly more touristy than Deià. Here, you will find excellent restaurants, boutique and souvenir shops, and medieval buildings with patios decorated in gorgeous flowers. The unique architecture amongst the mountains and winding streets makes Valldemossa one of the prettiest towns in Mallorca.

If you’re spending a day in Valldemossa, be sure to stop at La Viña Tapas Club, one of the best restaurant in Valldemossa! This is a great place to enjoy tapas on the street, with their bacon wrapped dates and octopus being my favorites!

Cala Figuera
Cala Figuera, a charming fishing village in Southeastern Mallorca, is one of the top places to visit in Mallorca. Just a 45 minute drive from Palma, Cala Figuera is the perfect place to spend an afternoon in Mallorca. I recommend a day trip to both Cala Figuera and Cala Mondrago, as they are only 15 minutes apart from each other.

Once in town, you can park for free on the street and explore the coast, enjoy tapas and drinks with water views, and wander around the historic fishing port that dates back to the 1800s. While there are no sand beaches at Cala Figuera, it is common for people to hike along the coast and lay a towel down to sunbathe and enjoy the views.

Palma
Palma, the capital of Mallorca, is undoubtedly one of the top places to visit in Mallorca. Located a stone’s throw away from the ocean, Palma is renowned for its stunning blend of city and sea. Before my first visit to Mallorca, Palma was on the bottom of my list of places to visit. After stepping foot into town, I was immediately enchanted with how charming and lively this gorgeous little city is! Between all of the cute stores and incredible bakeries, you can spend at least one full day here exploring.
A highlight of Palma is the Catedral-Basílica de Santa María de Mallorca, an impressive Gothic cathedral with architectural contributions from Antoni Gaudí. You can tour the cathedral and its terraces for 25 euros. The cathedral is especially beautiful during golden hour, where the building truly becomes a golden shade!

Palma is also a perfect place to shop, offering everything from boutique to designer fashion and a ton of fun souvenir stores, including my personal favorite, Mallorca Delicatessen, a super aesthetic spice shop with so many fun gifts for foodies. The city comes alive at night with vibrant places to eat and drink on the street that stay open until late. For a late-night treat, don’t miss Rivareno Gelateria, one of Palma’s best gelaterias, open until 1am.

Cala Mondrago
Cala Mondrago is located in the southern aspect of Mallorca, and is one of the best beaches in Mallorca! Known for its crystal clear, Gatorade-blue water, Cala Mondrago is a perfect summer oasis for swimming and sunbathing. Cala S’Amarador is just a short walk away from Cala Mondrago, where their oceans both meet. You can hike around the shoreline and admire the incredible cove views, or you can spend the day floating around in the picture perfect water.

While the beach itself is small, it doesn’t typically get too crowded in the summer. There is public parking for a small fee, along with a short, mild descent to the beach. The facilities are limited and Sa Font de n’Alis is the only restaurant on the beach, though there are public restroom facilities as well.

Cala Pi
Another one of the best things to do and see in Mallorca is visit the picturesque, Cala Pi. Cala Pi is located on Mallorca’s southern coast just 35 minutes from Palma. When you arrive, there is an option to descend down the stairs to the beach, or bear to your left and walk along the cliff. This walk provides a perfect view of the Cala from above, which is a popular photo spot in Mallorca.

When visiting this bucket list destination in Mallorca, bring water shoes! The rocks around the water can get slippery. Another thing to know before you go to Cala Pi is that there are no facilities on the beach, so pack a snack and water. Overall, Cala Pi is incredibly picturesque, and a great place to swim, making it one of the best places to go in Mallorca!
